“When I look at the piece she painted for me, it seems different and familiar at the same time. Sometimes the light will catch the gold foil or textures differently, bringing new layers of the painting to life. More often, just like Haley herself, the piece feels welcoming and a provides a place of stillness. Working with Haley was an absolute delight. I knew I wanted a larger piece, since it was originally intended for my office, and Haley was happy to work with me on sizing and conceptualization of the painting. She completed the work really quickly, which was a wonderful surprise. Getting the piece to me was another ordeal that Haley graciously worked with me to solve. Since it was too big to ship to DC, she willingly dropped it off with my father (who lives in KY) until I was able to travel to KY for the holidays. Before we settled on that solution, she priced out shipping and handling which was time consuming and never simple. She definitely went out of her way to make sure I could get the piece undamaged, timely, and at a low cost. When the painting made it back to DC with me, I couldn’t take it out of my home! I loved coming home after a hard day of work to this beautiful piece of art. On top of the amazing portrait of peace that it is, it reminds me of my dear friend who was on the other side of the canvas painting it. I look forward to collecting more of Haley’s pieces to put into my home.”
